So You Want to Talk About Race by Ijeoma Oluo

This book is informative, honest, actionable, and extremely well done. I think anyone and everyone could gain something by reading this. It comes across as calling in rather than calling out, so though hard truths are confronted there is still a path laid forward for those willing to take it.
I especially found the last bit inspiring where she talks about the definition of progress evolving over time. I won’t be able to summarize as beautifully as she said it, but if you look back what may have been seen as radical and unfathomable a few decades ago is now being talked about. Therefore logically, the same will continue to happen for generations to come. I found this a hopeful message that one day our kids and grandkids will look back on things that feel new and progressive as givens and they will be fighting the battles to gain even more freedoms and equality in other ways we may not even speak of now.
