Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
5.0
I have wanted to read this book for a while now. The size of the book was a bit intimidating several years ago when I first decided I was going to read Crime and Punishment.
You could put this book into so many genres (psychological thriller, romance, etc.). The story of Rodion Raskolnikov was a journey that was well worth the read. I found myself flying through the book. I felt sorry for Raskolnikov at times because of the torment he put himself and his loved ones through. Throughout the book, you can see his growth. In the Epilogue, his growth from selfish and prideful changes to reflective and optimistic. His romance with Sofya was one of my favorite parts of the book, along with his interactions with his friend, Razumikhin.
I highly recommend this book. It’s a literary classic for good reason. If it’s not on your to read list, you’re missing out.
