The Vanishing by Wendy Webb
5.0
Julia’s creep late husband leaves her m desolate and penniless when a man comes to her door. He wants her to be his mother’s caretaker in the middle of nowhere Minnesota in a spooky castle. Best thing? His mother is her favorite horror author.
This book is best read on a cold day, under a blanket, lights off, with some cocoa (maybe spiked with a little Bailey’s if you roll that way.)
This book is atmospheric Gothic Goodness. It’s my kryptonite. I was lost in all the feels of this book as I followed Julia on this mysterious journey. A hint of romance, an atmosphere that screams The Sublime, with a cast of fun characters, and a mystery you just want to solve!
Loved every minute of this and I was so sad when it was over. This is Gothic Fiction done right.
