If there's not another book to follow I'll probably cry?

I took sort of a plunge on this one; the author is the roommate of a friend of mine, and I picked it up cold, and ended up screaming through it at high speed. I find the two main characters really compelling, and the antagonist (when you get to them) terrifying.
