Greed and revenge are the heart of this caper. But it again replies upon the criminals not focusing upon the goal but wanting to having a fight with the crew of the Oregon. Only by their actions does the Oregon prevail, although at a cost.

I recently read The Pharaoh's Secret, a book in the NUMA series, and that book and this book have an overlap in Malta. I was thinking that events were beginning to sound familiar and it turns out I was right. But the merging of the stories is only a brief one and they both go their own way to wage war against the corrupt evil in the world.

This is an entertaining read but as usual there are lots of predictable events.
