The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang
5.0
I genuinely loved this book and read it in two days, essentially 24 hours. It was the perfect blend of story + romance, and I really appreciated the representation. After reading some other reviews, I understand how the representation of autism was not entirely well-done, so I want to acknowledge that here, because after hearing what others have to say, I see their points. However, I appreciated the fact that the author chose to focus on a woman with autism as the main protagonist in a romance--something virtually unseen in modern publishing. I also found the ideas and discussions of consent that were weaved into this story smart and engaging; I never felt that any 'morals' were being forced down my throat, but it still offered a story-driven discussion around consent, which I think is very much needed. The ending was a bit slow and a little bit contradictory to the rest of the story, so I was sort of taken out by these somewhat out-of-character events of the last fifty pages, but that didn't really ruin the experience for me. Overall, I really loved the story and the characters, and I found the book to be super compelling!
