I’m honestly surprised that I actually liked this novel. I’m not a fantasy reader, it’s one of my least favourite genre aside from Sci-Fi but the story of Alina, her powers and The Fold had me hooked.

I will say, Alina is by far not my favourite character. Neither is Mal. I do think this could have been told from anyone’s perspective and still be enjoyable.
