Once again these books are so weird for me to rate because I’m addicted to them but I keep giving them middle of the ground ratings. I feel like if this was marketed more as just an adult fantasy romance (because let’s be real the last two books and especially this one had enough smuttiness teens should be aware before picking up) I’d give it a higher rating because I loved the romance. But as a young adult fantasy I wanted more plot out of it, more development.

Like I said the romance between Emilia and Wrath was on fire, I was craving scenes with these two and there were plenty. But scenes between other characters felt a bit lacking. At the end of book 2 we learn
Vittora is alive and faked her death to get revenge for something Emilia is still blocked from knowing
. I would have liked more context between the two characters, I felt an emotional block between them. And Emilia made that friend in Wrath’s court Fauna but I feel like they had so few scenes together I didn’t buy their friendship. Just more development would have went a long way.

I was curious if there would be more books in this world because some of the characters storylines felt unfinished and I did see we at least get one more book following Envy so I am intrigued about that.
