This book would have been a solid 4 stars if it had some editing and was cut down to 500 or even 600 pages. The meandering, the info dumping, and the lack of thinking on many of the characters parts kept it from being a 4 star. But I enjoyed most of the world, found particularly the wide characters to be really enjoyable, and am intrigued enough to continue on with the series.
