In the second instalment of the Freya Sinclair Detevuce series, the discovery of two female bodies sets off a chain of events that point towards the infamous Fawn Lake Killer. Despite the long absence of such gruesome murders, a dropped photo during a scuffle unveils more mysteries and provides crucial clues to unravelling the case. The book's well-maintained pacing kept me engaged throughout, keeping me on my toes with unexpected twists. My heart went out to Candy as she received a distressing letter, adding another layer of complexity to the unfolding story.
