Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto
3.0
Meddy is about to marry the love of her life, Nathan, in the presence of Ma and her Aunties!!! Instead of being the wedding organizers, Meddy wants her Ma and Aunties to be her honoured guests. She hires Chinese-Indonesian family-run wedding vendors despite her reservations. Meddy immediately clicks with the photographer, Stephanie, who reminds her much of herself. That is until she overhears Stephanie plotting to wipe out a target at her wedding. As it turns out, Stephanie and her family are MAFIA! Well, you're not about to try to mess up Meddy and Nathan's big day when you got Ma and Aunties coming through in the clutch!
There was some hesitancy to continue with the sequel because of the rating, but with Ma and Aunties in my heart, I had to get my belly laughs! The first half of the Four Aunties and a Wedding was more engaging; however, the second half was a bit of a drag leading up to the showdown. The drama was intense, and the scenarios were over-the-top, but what else can one expect with Ma and her sisters in charge? Can you imagine Ma and Aunties practicing their English slang with English accents? It was "dog's bullocks!" LMAO!!
Overall, it's a quick read that will make you laugh and remind you of the importance of doing whatever it takes for the people you love! I'm looking forward to the third book in this series, The Good, the Bad, and the Aunties.
