The Murder Game by Tom Hindle

5.0

*4.5
i read this (or rather, listened to it) in one single day. it captivated me. it was so much better than hindle's debut, much faster paced, easier to overlook, the location was more interestingly itnerwoven into the story (although atmosphere is maybe not the author's strong point) and the mystery was simply devine! i loved everything about it, i was very proud to have guessed some things right but it still was captivating from beginning to end. the murderer's motive in the end seemed a tiny bit weak, at least for the second murder, and i wasn't a fan of the whole multi millionaire bad ass daughter thing (i did quite like lily as a character, i just don't like capitalists).

a little overview of the characters (which helped me so much to follow the story)
edward and martha - shop owners
justin - journalist
will hooper - inventor of the game, organisation
ian - owner of the hotel
damian white - investor, has bought the nearby light house
lily - his daughter
gwen & hugh - aspiring politician / caterer
nigel & silvia cobb - construction firm
theo, jack, claire - actors
