What I Liked:
  • Writing a book about COVID in a time where COVID is still running rampant is brave, but Jodi Picoult did it beautifully. This book dealt with yearning and tragedy and love and loss and did it in such a beautiful way that I know I’ll be thinking about this for a long time to come.
  • She truly captured the feelings of panic and isolation and fear and loneliness and helplessness that I know we all faced in the last two years.
  • I LOVED Finn’s character - especially how often he spoke on not really caring about the charades put on for thanking health care workers and being so frustrated at the lack of caring about masks or safety. I think that was so incredibly important.
  • Holy plot twist!!! I can usually guess plot twists but I didn’t see this one coming at all.
  • As per usual in her books, the settings and characters felt so real and three dimensional.
  • I loved the pacing of this one - not too fast, not too slow.
  • This book felt like the hug I needed after the last two years
