“It occurs to her that being with Sam felt like being onstage—not like she was performing, exactly, but more like she was lost in something besides her normal life.” —Fiona St. James, page 65

it’s honestly just a little bit heartbreaking that this book is just mediocre. i love celebrity drama in novels, but something about sam’s character just did not feel at all likeable to me. his depths are shallow, in comparison to fiona who has a wealth of mystery and intrigue and a bit of spite in her. this falls under great idea, poor execution i think. but it’s a decent enough book to pick up!
