The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
5.0
I adore this series.
the seven fated demigods have now been on many quests, but they still need to defeat Gaia. all her giants have risen, and they need to stop her awakening, which is planned to be on the first of August. She has driven the Roman and Greek demigods to war, and the only way they will have peace is if Gaia is stopped and the Athena Parthenos is delivered to CHB by a Roman praetor. the seven demigods travel to Athens to stop the ceremony, while Reyna, coach hedge, and Nico di Angelo are on their way to CHB with the athena parthenos. I adored this ending, I liked it just as much as the last olympian. Nico and Will were definitely my favorite characters in this book since I relate to Nico so badly, and Will was just so nice to him. The rest of the characters I also liked, just not as much as Will and Nico. I can't wait to read their book! I really liked all the different mythological characters in this book. Nike and Hygeia were so amusing. Seeing the hunters of Artemis and the Amazons again was just amazing. I love Apollo and Artemis. Watching Hades visit Nico in the chapel in Portugal was also so pure, they may not have the best relationship but Hades really is trying. I hate Orion and Octavian. Jason getting gold glasses from Asclepius was great, he's literally the first book character I've seen who is short-sighted and has glasses. It's funny cause I am short-sighted and have golden glasses myself. The ending fight was amazing since we got the gods fighting with their children. I am probably the only one to say this, but I love Hera. I also love Aphrodite. I don't get why people hate on them instead of on Zeus, who deserves literally nothing. I loved this ending and i cant wait to read the trials of apollo and the sun and the star.
“Oh, come on!’ Percy complained. ‘I get a little nosebleed and I wake up the entire earth? That’s not fair!”
“I … what? Why would you want a son of Hades in the same room with people you’re trying to heal? Why would anyone want that?’
‘You can’t help out a friend? Maybe cut bandages? Bring me a soda or a snack? Or just a simple How’s it going, Will? You don’t think I could stand to see a friendly face?’
‘What … my face?’
The words simply didn’t make sense together: Friendly face. Nico di Angelo.”
