This is such a beautiful book, it's hard not to give 5 stars for the stunning delicate illustrations alone. The story itself is a simple one and great to read aloud. I loved the message behind Hortense trying to break up with her shadow - great for young kids - while the latter end was admittedly, spooky. A beautiful book that would make a precious gift!
