Scythe by Neal Shusterman

4.0

4.5 stars! I was honestly expecting not to like this that much. But it ended up being really good. In the beginning I was worried that even though this book had such a dark concept, it would be a bit too light since it’s YA (I wondered if I’d be hoping it to be an adult novel instead). Scythe was actually the perfect amount of dark. Which was pretty dark for a YA. There were so many twists and turns. My only problem with this book was that the romance was a bit underdeveloped. I understand that under stress, people form bonds quicker. I just feel we didn’t see enough interaction between Citra and Rowan for it to be believable they cared so much for each other. But I can see past that, the plot definitely made up for it.
