Absolutely loved this!!! But the ending was bittersweet.

My only complaint is that Hanse just didn't seem like he'd be in on the colemongering. Even if he had been a part of it, I was expecting something minor, maybe he was forced/tricked into doing what Pearl wanted, etc. Hanse's ghost also conveniently telling Beka what Pearl's plan was...umm I don't know about that, but okay. Slapper dying though...I hope Jurgi got the oil and died a painful death.

I can't believe Goodwin is leaving :( I'm guessing she's still going to be in Mastiff, but I'm going to miss her so much! I really missed Tunstall in this book, but it was so nice to get to know Goodwin better and I'm looking forward to seeing another side of Tunstall.

As for Dale. WHYYYY??!! That was literally so heartbreaking and sad. My heart just broke for Beka, like I just wanted to hug her :( I hope he's back in Mastiff. I think I like him more than Rosto. He's on the right side of the law, he's charming, funny, and just a gentleman.

Achoo is now my all time favourite dog ever!!! She's an entire character of her own - which I just love! A lot of the time I feel as if the pets/animals in a book are overshadowed by the "humans", but this wasn't the case. She's just as important and goes through as much of a character growth as Beka and I can't wait to see her in Mastiff!!!

Sir Lionel can go burn in hell for all I care. The only thing that bugs me is that he's related to Alanna (right?) and I can't believe he's like that. Though I never liked Alanna's father anyway and I guess you can't blame a person for the actions of an ancestor.

Wow I actually wrote a review for a book. Kind of anyway.
