Day 21 by Kass Morgan

5.0

Normally when I read a book on my phone I mark all the things that I enjoyed. This time I didn't. Not because I didn't enjoy anything, but simply because I would have to mark the whole thing and I'm not quite sure how well would that work out.
As a big fan of the TV show I can't help comparing these two, but even though everything is so different I still love it all (maybe the book even more, which I haven't really known was possible).
The plot was as expected amazing. All those strange things happening in just one day gave me goose bumps and over all I admire Kass Morgan for putting one day into over 200 pages without boring me for even one second.
And what's even more amazing is how this book played with my emotions. In one day I went from loving Bellamy for whatever it takes to thinking he was kinda jerk to hating him a lot for some stuff he did to Clarke and finally to loving him again even more than at the beginning.
The strange thing about plot twists here is that because of the obvious foreshadowing you can see them just fast enough to realise the whole thing before it's said, but not fast enough to stop it blowing your mind. Ehm, ehm, Lily, ehm, ehm, Clarke's parents. If you read it you know what I mean. If not, then don't worry. You can't tell much from that.
If I get beck to the TV show for a sec I love how there they portrait the kids as these helpless little things who don't really have a clue what they're doing and the grounders as these bad ass warriors, who would kill you at the first sight, meanwhile here we have quite the opposite. While watching the screen version I always kinda wondered why they never built anything or where they slept, because it seemed really silly for all of them to just sleep in the drop ship. Anyway, this might sound weird, but I like these Grounders better, because they actually tried to make peace and did not just attack after the first reckless mistake. they think not just with their heart, but with their brains too and I think that that is a character trait people would need to survive the nuclear apocalypse and that kind of sh*t.
Now let's get to the best part. The characters.
As I said Bellamy here was a bit tiny difficult character to judge, because of some thingsā€¦ But I still love him and ship him with Clarke as much as I can. Ok, so he reacted poorly, but I don't care about that anymore, because the ship still sails and hopefully will never stop. BTW I love this fanart. It might be one of the best ones I've ever seen.

And then there was Sacha. I loved her so much. She represented the good in all Earthbornes and honestly, without her Wells was kinda annoying.
There's so much more to say, but I've already been gushing about this to every single living soul I know so I guess you all poor readers here are free from this review.
