Cinder by Marissa Meyer
5.0
Readability: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Recommend: Yes
Cinder is a cyborg mechanic. She is a mistake and a burden. She is unwanted. Her reputation for being the best mechanic in New Beijing has lead Prince Kai to her. As tension between the Lunar Kingdom and the Earthen Kingdoms builds, Cinder finds herself in a dangerous situation.
Cinder is the first of what is a great series. The book is captivating and the world-building is not too jarring or complicated. You get a sense of how each character acts the way they do (some more than others), and I'd say most of the characters are lovable or hateable (that kind of hate you love to have with villans).
This was my second time reading this book, and I was not disappointed. It is common knowledge that I love fairytale retellings, and The Lunar Chronicles was most definitely the reason why. I love reading the twists and changes from what was a familiar story. My love for classics with a hint of change is ever-growing. Revisiting this series has only reinforced that. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, action, sci-fi, and a bit of magic
