This book starts where the previous one finished and follows the separate exploits of Amaranthe and the remainder of her group of outlaws plus the two new recruits from the previous book.
Amaranthe' adventure is of a darker nature this time, having been separated from her team. Theirs though Is fast-paced action all the way that is made more entertaining as Maldynado is given centre stage as he temporarily takes charge of the team due to Amaranthe' absence.
The interaction between the team members continues to be developed as characters grow and attitudes change, making the whole series more engaging book by book.
