The tension and angst. Phew!

This is an easily bingeable YA fantasy about a powerless girl hiding amongst a powerful society. There are quite a few plot points that reminded me a lot of The Hunger Games, so if you like those vibes with the addition of special powers and the romantic tension turned up a notch (while staying clean), you just might enjoy this one!

There is some frequent repetition of sentiments/phrases and small gaps in some minor plot points, but overall the entertainment value is definitely there!

Audio note: It's dual narration, and I thought both did a great job. My one complaint is the voice the female narrator gave to the MMC. It just didn't feel like the right voice to give to the strong, hunky love interest. It's easy to overlook in favor of an engaging story, though!

Some tropes you might find:
🗡️ "Who did this to you?"
🗡️ He falls first, and he falls hard.
🗡️ Surprisingly amicable love triangle
🗡️ Flirty frienemies-ish to lovers-ish
