a surprise pregnancy/hidden baby plot in a mc romance, with a female lead romance author? this was so unexpected, albeit not unpleasant in the least. the way this couple was first introduced, by the old ladies reading a book written by the biker's ex, unbeknownst to them, and pointing out the similarities between him and the cover model of said story to him crashing a book convention to confront her was so meta, i couldn't stop laughing.
most of all, i appreciated the club embracing the mom and daughter duo without questions right away. they only care that the kid looked like a copy of his father and he was wrapped around her finger at first sight. but uncle colton? i genuinely love him the most. niro's bromance with bates was everything in his book, but in this one it hit differently. his inner child healed a lot of trauma by loving and protecting his brother's kid and their "club business" dynamic touched my soul.
