After my journey with My Heart is a Chainsaw, I was so damn excited to pick this book up. I am very very happy to report that I looooooooooved Don't Fear the Reaper so so so much :'D
Once again, thank you @ universe for audiobooks! The one for Reaper was absolutely fantastic (it had multiple narrators!) and made my reading experience so awesome. It was so much easier to get back into this world through audio and I was so happy to be with Jade again :D
The plot here was all over the place, as expected, and it so much fun trying to put all the pieces together. Jade and Letha continued to be my absolute favorites and I really liked what SGJ did with all of the other perspectives. Each character had their own voice and brought something to the plot to help move things along.
The way horror references were used here was a little bit different from the first book, but still a blast. They really ramp up in the second half as certain puzzle pieces come together--it was a bit of a challenge to keep track of them, but in a positive way.
The ending was everything I wanted from this book. I really enjoyed that this sort of worked as a self-contained story in the sense that the major conflict had a resolution (much like the first book) and only a few threads were left without answers. I seriously cannot wait to see how the trilogy wraps up considering the direction SGJ took with this one.
