The further into this series I get, the more I love it. Everything is connected and intricately plotted and even though many threads are woven through the whole series, each book contains a satisfying end! Not an easy feat. I am so glad that Inspector Treadles has a much needed reckoning and that Charlotte and Lord Ingram take a step forward together (avoiding spoilers here, people!), and I was pretty shocked by the denouement of this mystery. A showstopper, in my opinion!
