Book #25 of 2024: New-to-me author and a debut author to boot!

I saw this book mentioned in a reading group and it intrigued me. I ordered it for my Kindle earlier this month. I started it last night because I’m a mood reader. I wanted to open up a different genre from my other current book. And I am so glad that I did! WOW! What a ride!

The irony is that I-a person who would never read time travel-has now read six books with time travel in just a few months!

From the start, this book reeled me in. I had so many questions that I needed answers to. I was confused, angry, in tears, scared — and I wanted more!

I liked the main character, Taylor, and my heart went out to her for all she had been through. I felt her confusion, devastation, and need for answers. I could feel how part of her spirit was broken all those years later and she needed closure. She had a wonderful new life with a great man and 3 sons.

The character of James was an enigma throughout the book but it all came together in the end in a beautiful, yet heart-wrenching way.

The one thing I wished is that we saw *more* of her faith journey than we did. That would have made it even better. Some growth was mentioned, as well as her realization of God’s provisions, but making a decision/commitment seemed to be left to a future time by means of talks with an unexpected friend. I would have loved to see that flush out more toward the end of the book.

This book had mystery, the unknown, romance, heartache, family issues, grief, and more. The further I read, the better it got. There were several twists and turns and I enjoyed it so much. I highly recommend this book!
