Spare by Prince Harry
Conflicted. That’s how I feel after reading this. I’m happy that he has shared inside stories of life as a Royal; but, it saddens me that despite the trauma, he accepts the long-held traditions of killing birds and deer and other victims of Royal hunts as rites of passage. He documents his efforts to improve lives of people and dogs…and then the disconnect: roast chickens. I wonder will he subject his children to what he experienced and shove their faces into a carcass of an animal they just killed, and say good job?
His work to improve life for the world’s people is, of course, wonderful. But it’s a shame that he doesn’t use his fame to make the world a compassionate place for all life. His story would be so much better if he had transformed to be a voice for all living beings.
