Audiobook was well done. I found the speed of the narrators was slightly different at the beginning but as the book went on, I didn't notice it.
One of my least favorite miscommunication themes is in here - keeping secrets from your loved ones in the name of "protecting them". But it was resolved in a satisfying way (which included mom and grandma putting boy in his place).
If your only cowboy romance experience is with Elsie Silver, I'd say this is more playful and campy and less gritty.
