Two Steps Forward: A Story of Persevering in Hope by Sharon Garlough Brown
5.0
Our four friends from Sensible Shoes continue on their journey to becoming more like Jesus. Their lives are messy, but Jesus the Messiah came into this messy world and they are learning to recognize God with us. Each is dealing with family and relationship issues: a divorce and a rebellious son; a surprise pregnancy; a wayward daughter; and a budding romance, but also grieving that she'll never be able to have children. Another great book by Sharon Garlough Brown!
This book doesn't have to be read at Christmas time, but as it takes place in December, the Advent Season would be the perfect time for reading it. I read it just after the Christmas season, but my heart was still focused on God with us, God with us in our mess, that I felt very receptive and connected with some of the Christmas imagery that Ms Brown focused on.
