Star Mother by Charlie N. Holmberg

5.0

I can't put my finger on exactly WHY I enjoyed this so much, but I did!

After reading the book description, I was afraid the story would be...weird, but I loved the author's Paper Magician series, so I figured I would give it a shot. Yes, maybe the premise is weird, but I also found it adorable, enchanting, unique, and exciting. I would love a peek into Charlie Holmberg's imagination!

The book's main character, Ceris, has a lovely character arc that allows readers to watch her transform from a playful, yet uncertain girl to a confident and wise woman and mother. The story creatively depicts the different bonds of love experienced by Ceris: the love of a daughter for her family, the love of a mother for her children, romantic love, and love for those who are an integral part of one's life.

This was one of those books that I actually wished was a little longer because I wanted to spend more time in the characters' stories!
