I honestly don’t even know what I just read, but I loved every second of it.

This sequel completely blew me away. Going into this, I was a little nervous. Based on the cliffhanger from The Devil’s Thief and all of the storylines that hadn’t been resolved, I really didn’t see where this was going to go.

Nothing could have prepared me for the twists and turns this book took. I predicted almost nothing that happened, and I have truly no idea how this is going to wrap up in the conclusion.

This book was long but it didn’t feel that way. I was frantically turning the pages of this to see what would happen next. I audibly gasped multiple times, laughed out loud, and even cried out frustrations. It’s been far too long since a book truly had me on the edge of my seat.

Usually when I read a multiple POV book, there are at least one or two perspectives that feel like a chore to read from. I can honestly say that I loved reading from each character’s perspective. Also the angst between Darrigan and Esta practically had me on the floor.

This series is so underrated, and more people need to read it. Everything you could possibly want is here: time travel, a diverse cast of character, magic, historical settings, plot twists you won’t see coming, anti-heroes, high stakes, romance, and heists.

I’m so happy with this sequel and don’t think I can wait a year for the last book.
