The Friend Zone by Abby Jimenez

3.0

A sweet romance and I loved the addition of the infertility story, especially since it was written with permission from the author’s best friend.

The part I really struggled with in the book was with Tyler. He served no purpose other than to drive the point home that Kristin couldn’t have kids and I found myself often ticked because of the infidelity Kristin showed to a man who was serving overseas.

Emotional affairs are real and she was cheating. She was not faithful to her relationship and I disliked that the author tried to downplay the affair by making Kristin believe she was settling for Tyler.

It’s one of those times where I wish the author would have given the main character consequences for her actions. It was entirely disappointing just from that standpoint.

The rest of the book was great and I would have given it 4 stars, but I give it 3.5, rounded down because this book glorifies it being okay to cheat on a significant other while they are serving in the military and it happens far too often in real life, leaving those men devastated.
