When it comes to rom-coms, if no one got me, I know Mimi Grace got me! Another couple that had me kicking my feet and blushing. From the first page, you wanted Raven to be your friend, and she became my bestie very quickly. After running into an inheritance of an outdoor recreation center, she starts feeling out ownership much to the dismay of Silas who was next in line. Silas is just the right amount of grump. You understand why he isn’t Raven’s biggest fan, but you also can’t blame him for feeling her a little bit. Their period of dislike was just as believable as their period of falling for each other. I wish I got to see more of them as a couple because I was really getting into it. Mimi Grace’s descriptions of her characters’ large lips, soft bellies, thick thighs, and styled braids surpassed the beauty of Take a Hike’s stunning cover. The representation that I continue to get from these novels makes my magical black girl heart so happy. Raven and Silas’ story was short, sweet, and spicy. Perfect for anyone looking for a rom-com this summer.
Thank you so much to Mimi Grace for the ARC!
