Death in the City of Light: The Serial Killer of Nazi-Occupied Paris by David King
5.0
though it meandered a bit into general culture during the occupation, I like that it provided more of a well-rounded picture of the time. the revelations about Petiot's crimes kept me on edge just as much as a fictional thriller, and even the description of the trial at the end was compelling due to how absolutely bonkers it ended up being. I really enjoyed this, and would definitely recommend it if you have a taste for history, true crime, and thrillers.
