This was dishearteningly bad :-/ I don’t mean to exaggerate but this was painful to sit through. Not only is the dialogue SO cringey and completely out of touch with what ~the kids are saying these days~ but oof it’s also riddled with cliches and neoliberalism. It seems as though the author isnt even entirely clear on their goal other than to have race be the main focus. Which is great! But to not talk about capitalism and white supremacy in a not popular, liberal way is… a choice? It just felt lacking.
The only reason I kept reading was to see if the plot was as predictable as it was and…. It was :/ the writing overall was very thin and lacking in depth that would have done some heavy lifting
