Good, emotional read

I admit, I got attached to all the characters of this book. so reading, knowing the context of WWII was difficult for me especially when she learns the status of Jews and the air bombs.
It was refreshing to have a book with a simple but good plot. Also, I like that the ending has an emotional twist that I wasn't expecting but it made for the ending.
