Re-read 2023.
This is an excellent sequel to The Paper Magician that does not at all suffer from "middle book syndrome." In fact, I may like it even more than the first!

I really enjoy the introduction to glass magic, in addition to learning more about paper magic and the magic system as a whole. I also love the continuation of the super slow burn romance.

There are some dark moments that add to the intrigue and desperation in the story. Like the first, this second book moves at a quick pace, and I can't wait to read the next one!
