I adored Barren Grounds, and liken it much to a modern, better version of Chronicles of Narnia. But Great Bear felt wonderfully original. It was powerful and cool and mixed in a sci-fi element, and it broke my freaking heart at the end. A tale of empowerment and coming of age in a sense. I can't wait for the next adventure- WHAT A CLIFFHANGER!
