The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden
4.25
I was locked in almost immediately, this story grabbed me with two hands and it did not let me go. I think Ghosts is a very interesting book that contains a different story for every reader, depending on how they read it and what they read into it. To me, this was a story about the gruesome reality of war combined with the fascinating human ability to both create and find myth and magic where there was none before. At first, I was very surprised at how strong the supernatural elements were, I was expecting more of a "clean" historical fiction. I came to thoroughly enjoy those elements though. Ghosts did not blow me away in the way I was hoping, but I still enjoyed it!
