Ugh. How can we go from cute and emotional to boring and unnecessary?

The first book was amazing. The only element I didn't enjoy was the godly war, which I found dull. I expected the war to be a bit more important here but I figured it would be balanced with the sweet romance.

But nope. I absolutely DESPISE the trope here:

memory loss.

So not only I had to cope with this war I never cared about but also I can't even have something to cling to now? I'm just sad and upset.

This sequel already felt unnecessary to me (the first book could easily have been a standalone if the godly war hadn't been a thing). Oh well..
