Listening Speed: 1.15x
If I had simply read this book with my eyes, I’m not sure I would have lasted until the end. The “Kolya” and “Lotus Flower” references were enough to do me in, and there didn’t seem to be much of a plot for a significant chunk of the book.
BUT.
Because I listened to the audio, the top-tier narration truly carried this book and encouraged me to keep going. The end of the book really saved the story for me. While Teddy was amazing as Nico, Shane East’s brilliantly emotional performance for Brandon’s character had my jaw on the floor. If you’re going to pick this story up, I highly recommend listening to the audiobook for the best experience!
