The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune

5.0

This was the perfect book. I was hesitant going into this, as it's been so hyped and literally everyone loves this book, but there was no reason to be cautious. It was absolutely perfect and everyone who's been shouting from the rooftops about is absolutely right. If you haven't read this yet, you absolutely should.

The way the characters in this just worm their way into your heart... the way that Arthur Parnassus is the best father-figure I've ever read... the way that I want to scoop the literal Antichrist into my arms and give him the world's biggest hug...

Everyone says this book is like a big, warm hug and they're right. There's no other way to describe how loved and cherished you feel when you read it. Like you're one of the children in the orphanage and there's this perfect little slice of home right there for you.

Does this review make much sense? Probably not. But just know this-- this book is a new all-time favorite book and my new #1 "Everyone should read this book" book.
