Verity by Colleen Hoover

5.0

Oh wow where do I begin?

I finished this in less than 24 hours. If I can recommend ANYTHING, it is that you read this is the morning/afternoon. I love thrillers and this justified my love for them. It was creepy and exciting all in one. Page after page I was enthralled in what would happen next. Don’t be like me and read this at night, hence my recommendation... I simply did not want to put it down, it was that good. The characters were perfect. Jermey was perfect. Lowen was actually one of the best main characters I’ve read in a thriller book, aka she was not stupid. Then there Verity, she’s something. I won’t give anything away but I loved this book. It is totally different from any other of her books but in a good way, the best way! But I must say, people exaggerated on the plot twist. While it was shocking I believe it was amped up to be more than it was.

Last warning!

I too am team manuscript.

I think Verity was psychotic and that she wrote that letter in hopes Jeremy would love her again. I mean what mother let’s her child grab a knife and cut themselves if she only wanted to protect him and run away with him!? And who on earth would fake an injury to that level and stay with the man who caused it… NO ONE!!

As for Jeremy he definitely had his moments where I doubted him. My only hope is that my doubts were wrong and he can finally have a happy family. I liked him I really did.

Now Lowen, I won’t deny she was actually a good thriller main character. Though what person stays in a house like that!? I’d have been sleeping in my car at this point.

Though I do have doubts. My one of many concerns is why would Jeremy get Lowen that lock with no question? Aside from the obvious. Let alone get a lock for Verity’s room if he actually believed she was paralyzed. He never once objectived strongly to getting the lock. Which makes me wonder if he knew too, what if the letter was correct...

Other than that I have many questions. But they will never be answered. I liked this book truly one of the best thrillers I’ve read in a while.
