The Chestnut Man by Søren Sveistrup
4.0
A perfect mystery to read in the fall! I now feel the need to roast some chestnuts and make a chestnut man. I’ve added that to my winter bucket list.
I wanted to read this book but I was also hesitant as well- idk why. I think the Nordic names intimidated me. I will admit, I did struggle a bit with keeping everyone straight for the first half. It would have probably been easier if I was physically reading the text, rather than listening to the audiobook. Idk why I struggle with foreign names so much but I do. My stupid uncultured American self. I finally overcame my hesitation thanks to the 52 Book Club’s prompt “Nordic Noir”. I’m glad it pushed me into finally picking up this book.
But anyways. I’m really glad I read it. It was a fantastic book and a fantastic mystery. I now I want to read alllll the Nordic crime thrillers!!
