Maaaaaaaaannnnnnn!!!!! Velvet was SO GOOD!!!! Ed Brubaker mentioned that he wanted us to feel Velvet like Bond-y and Mission Impossible-y and though Bond movies were never my jam ( I am and always be MI girl from heart ), I can assure you that Velvet felt exactly like Bond and MI movies. The rush, the betrayals, the scratching out of suspects one by one and so much of adrenaline rush. Velvet needs to be adapted into a series or a movie. It has such a good storytelling. And I have to mention my most favourite part of Brubaker’s writings is how he writes monologues/dialogues which eventually lead to big revelations. It is done in such a clever way and that my friends is the ART of storytelling that few people are GREAT at. He will weave dialogues and leave little bit of easter eggs here and there in the monologues/dialogues and this makes his stories perfect for a reread. Because you can go oohhh and aahhh during your rereads and that is so much fun!!
