Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo
5.0
Bernardine Evaristo creates a cast of characters so fully formed it’s hard to believe this is a work of fiction. Each character’s story is individual but also overlaps with the others - which I loved.History and inter-generational trauma are threaded throughout the novel. Race, feminism, gender identity and sexual orientation are all explicitly and implicitly woven into the stories. Girl, Woman, Other is almost a sensory experience; a real feast of a book.
