The Sisters of Auschwitz: The True Story of Two Jewish Sisters' Resistance in the Heart of Nazi Territory by Roxane van Iperen
5.0
The story of the Jewish and non-Jewish Dutch Resistance, centered on two sisters and their families as they try to save Jews from the Nazis. Written by a woman who ended up buying the house where much of the activity takes place. Janny and Lien also were in the camps with Anne and Margot Frank and could provide some information about their last days. Much of the story is ultimately tragic, but it gives readers a different perspective on Jewish resistance, as well as the anti-Semitism active in the Netherlands before Hitler shows up; it's not Denmark, that's for sure.
Highly recommended for those interested in the Holocaust.
