An extraordinary, powerful and generous memoir about queerness, Blackness, gender expectations (and how they start before birth), consent, confidence and joy. A thoughtful, gentle and articulate gift for the young people it’s written for and more. That it’s currently the second most banned book in the United States is ridiculous, criminal and cruel.
