Letter to My Daughter by Maya Angelou

hopeful inspiring reflective sad fast-paced
Fell flat on some parts because it feels a bit like my aunt pushing god on me, as if I need god’s guidance to live a fulfilling life or w/e—not a fan of preaching, but if you’re not bothered with how heavy it gets towards the end, then you’ll like it.  Or when she says to “smile” regardless, as a “kindness.” Like, fuck smiling to ease others’ discomfort. You can be kind without smiling and/or believing in god and scriptures, etc.
