The Roughest Draft by Austin Siegemund-Broka, Emily Wibberley
3.0
3-3.5 stars
I definitely have a thing for dual timeline novels but whew was this one a whirlwind. Katrina and Nathan have a difficult history, but they got to be really annoying at times. It got to a point where I was really looking forward to the "4 years earlier" parts because it meant getting away from the chaos and annoying back and forth between them that wasn't even banter at that point???
It isn't really a summer rom-com for like 85% of the book... so don't expect that going into it (I definitely didn't but just in case). I think having seen how GOOD Emily Henry does this dynamic, it just fell short in comparison. However, I did really enjoy the portrayal of Katrina unraveling her emotions and understanding the dynamics between her, Nathan, and (unfortunately) their agent/fiance person (whose name I refused to actually retain).
Overall, it was a finneee read and glad its one I listened to over audio because I literally couldn't handle sitting and reading this one.
